I prefer liquid boil over the powder. I believe to truly get the flavor in deep in the crawfish it’s a must. However the flavor of the powder is better so I use a mixture of both. Can’t beat it.
I ordered extra seasoning to boil my vegetables in while the crawfish were cooking in another pot. The flavor is outstanding and has and ok spice level. I would have liked it to be a little more spicy.
when ever I talk about cooking my crawfish up here in the northeast everyone always asks "what do you use, Old Bay?" I immediatly say Hell No! I use the real thing right from Louisiana Crawfish!
I'm giving this 5 stars, even though I don't think it is quite a zippy as it used to be. That's ok in most cases, as I'll be able to let the boil rest for a bit to give it a boost. I could always buy a spicier mix from them too.
Overall the flavor is good, especially when combined with fresh lemons so the tart and acid help round out the flavors.
Really great boil mix, and far better than any you'll find in a grocery store!
The folks at LACrawfish Co were kind enough to include a bottle of the original Dat Dip when I ordered some gator bites to deep fry... and serving them at my Tiki Bar & Grill, they both became an instant success.... I would recommend trying both.
I had recently tried a different brand of seafood boil, but the flavor profile just didn’t match up. Louisiana crawfish‘s seafood boil has a perfectly robust blend of spices that bring out the best in any seafood boil.
I've tried several different boil mixtures and found this one to be the best balance of flavor and heat while still allowing me to add a small amount of my own home grown homemade hot sauce and some citrus. Post boil layering with the Creole seasoning to rest for 20 minutes or so and it's damn near perfection. Everyone raves about the flavor.
I have used a good dozen different seafood boil spices for crawfis and shrimp. I find the taste and mild heat of LA seafood boil to be the best tasting. Also, the aroma is fantastic. If u close my eyes, I feel like I'm in Louisiana at a crawfish boil.
I purchased two extra bags of the Louisiana Crawfish Boil so I could layer the crawfish and the seafood boil in a cooler and let it steam. I seen this on the company's website and it made a major difference in the flavor, from the previous time i did a boil. I highly recommend this layering process.
Can’t wait till I receive my package and fill the pot with water and seasoning and when it starts to boil put it on simmer and the whole house is filled with that fantastic flavor….best seasoning ever!!
We LOVE LA Crawfish's Creole Seasoning. I use it in all of my cajun and creole cooking, poured over hot steaming crawfish, or making a "cajun rimmer" for a Bloody Mary! Thank you LA Crawfish!!!
Used the Boil to cook crawdads, 1 pound spice to 10 pounds crawdads. Result was not as spicy as I'd hoped, but layering the cooked mudbugs with about a half pound of the remaining spice made all the difference! Delicious!
If you like the original which in my opinion is amazing and you want to bump it up a notch without melting your teeth this is perfect. Dissolves and flavors like the original but has considerably more bite.
All I can say is this is the best seasoning you can use for the best tasting crawfish of your life. Didn’t need to add any other seasoning with it , everyone loved it and adding the extra seasoning after removing from pot sets it off !
I have purchased numerous times and have always been pleased. Went online and called to order just one 8oz container of creole seasoning for $3.99. The best shipping they could offer was over $32. I do not need it shipped express, just basic ground from Louisiana to Florida. There is major problem with greed in this country!
Great seasoning. I wish there was more info for those of us that have never had a boil on how much to use. This was my third boil and it took 3 lbs for 10 lbs of crawfish… 1 lb for all the veg, 1 lb for the crawfish, and one additional for everything as it steamed. It’s an expensive trial and error to get good enough.
Flavor is on point but too little and it looses flavor fast and tastes bland.
We have used LA Crawfish Company for 25 years and are always impressed by the quality and customer service. There was an issue with our order and they made it right so our party was successful! I would recommend this company to anyone.
I think this is probably my favorite seasoning for most creole dishes and foods. I'll say also, that I think it takes quite a bit when dusting to really set things in motion, but that's not a problem.
Many of the dishes I'm making I dial back the spices as many of the folks at church can't hack it. So... This is a great way to go for the rest of us who appreciate a spicy and full flavor.
Love this stuff.
AWESOME !!! We will be ordering more for our next boil. Arrived fresh and fast out of 20lbs only had a few crushed "bugs". due to weather we had to hold them an extra day but they kept wonderfully. Awesome Product
This stuff is the BEST!! It is a bit spicy and will burn on the way in and the way out. It's well worth it, though!! If your a guy, just remember to wash your hands BEFORE you go to the bathroom.
